(i'm not posting this anonymously because i do plan on being active in the future)))
basically, at soccer i'm the only girl. because it's homeschool soccer, there is a mix of boys and girls. the other girl, who is my sorta-friend, is leaving, and i sort of want to make friends... but there's just guys on my team. i want to be able to talk to them without my mom thinking i have a boyfriend. any tips?

The real question is why don't you want your mom think this or that? What bad happens if she thinks it?

Hello Lynne, how are you?  Can I ask how old you are? You should not be thinking that it is "awkward" for your mom to think you have a boyfriend (or for her to think anything else about you for that matter). She gave you birth after all ... there's hardly anything more "awkward" than that That awkwardness here comes not from her thinking about your relationships, but from you not wanting her to. Secrets are awkward. Look, I'll give you an example. You want to make friends wit a boy, but are afraid that she may think you have a crush. Why would she think that, if you tell her you are just friends? Could it be because you are giving her reasons to suspect, that you are not always telling her everything? If she had no reason to doubt what you are saying, would it still be awkward for you to tell her you are friends with a boy? |
